Writing

Cut It Out is a small, independent group that meets on the last Saturday of every month (except August, which is reserved for holidays) in the expansive, bright desk area of the art section at Leeds Central Library.

A week before we email each other up to 2000 words of work – a few of us are working on novels, others might do a short story, some utilise the session to check Uni’ work. Basically, what you submit is up to you, although we often offer ideas too. We take the time to each edit all submitted work before meeting and then explain and go through our constructive critique during the session. Sometimes we’ll go on to write a second draft following the critique and then re-group to explore once more. A section of the meet up is also reserved for writing exercises, which are also shared and explored. I usually take the lead but it is very much a group effort. We also take at least an hour’s break for lunch and chatter and laughter.

Please, give me a call (07824 813 682) for more information or email to be added to our mailing list (roisinallana@googlemail.com). Look forward to hearing from you, Roisin.
